With New York fashion week in full swing, Lincoln Center wasn't the only destination for the fabulously dressed, fashion obsessed crowd. Celebs, models, and industry insiders were spotted, and photographed, all over town.
Clad in all-black, and looking ultra-stylish, this model was snapped outside one of the shows. And here are just some ideas about how you can pull off a similar style, and look equally amazing!!!!!

Update: The Lanvin vintage evening gown made an appearance on the red carpet!
Here's an update on one of those spectacular Lanvin vintage gowns which I introduced to you back in April in the post titled: it's a small world afterall - a true story of two tribeca neighbors and vintage couture
Well I am happy to report that the lavender stunner found a home, and actually made an appearance last night at The New York Botanical Garden Conservatory Ball, worn by a familiar face when it comes to New York City news circles! And if that wasn't enough, I understand Bill Cunningham, the famed New York Times photojournalist was absolutely wild about it --- "the best dress I've seen in ages, so refined," as he put it... I couldn't agree more!

Is Resale-Riches, TriBeCa's Chic Consignment Shop A Reality Show In The Making?
For the most part, I would describe my job picking and sifting through couture day in and day out as pretty exciting stuff, especially for someone who lives and breathes fashion the way I do. But I can see where most people would consider this a tedious, laboursome task that's definitely not a dream job for the masses. Well thank goodness producers from Magilla, the folks who bring us such fashion gems in reality TV as Jersey Couture (which premiers tonight) see things more my way, and are developing a show for Bravo centered around hunting for couture treasures.
You can only imagine my surprise last week as I was completely caught off guard by a phone call from a Magilla producer asking me if I'd be interested in meeting with him to learn more about the concept of this show. Now, I will reluctantly admit that trashy reality tv is a guilty pleasure, (a fact which I do not openly advertise) an outrageous world so out of my realm, which I look down upon when around my more intellectual friends. Yes, I live a double life! So getting this phone call out of the blue completely threw me for a loop ---.I am not looking for love, and am probably the farthest thing from a basketball wife or a hot-tempered Italian from Jersey who flips tables.... I am just a downtown, fashion-loving mom, who's found a dream job. And, if fashion is the storyline here, well then, sign me up!!!!
Surprisingly, I wasn't in the least bit nervous when I met with the producers this morning. On the contrary, I was completely in my element as they intently listened to everything I had to say, which is not something I can say for the people closest to me, who are sick and tired of hearing about second hand fashion finds. If nothing else, it was refreshing!
Even though the concept for the show isn't fully developed yet, and things in this business change with the direction of the wind, I can only assume nothing will come of it, but nevertheless it was a fun and exciting experience that I was happy to have been a part of!

Kate, Natalie, & Claire rock Lanvin on the red carpet, and so can you (for a fraction!)
Kate Hudson, Natalie Portman, and Clair Danes all rocked Lanvin, and looked fabulous on the red carpet in NYC this week. I actually still can't decide whose dress I liked better, each equally stunning in it's own right, all thanks to the pure genius of my man Alber!!!! But for those of us in the real world who just can't bring ourselves to drop a month's rent on a couture frock from this season, here's a more practical option that you can live with, without draining your bank account!
